FLORENCE AT SUNSET BY BULLET TRAIN

  OVERVIEW

 Set off from Roma Termini station onboard one of the fastest and most comfortable trains in Europe. In little over 90 minutes you'll be in Florence!

 Florence at Sunset by Bullet Train begins when the coachloads of tourists that flock to Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Signoria in the day, have moved on come eventide.

 Our guided sightseeing experience takes in all the tranquil squares and iconic fountains of the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982.

 Walk into the heart and soul of Italian Renaissance history and see what inspired Giorgio Vasari's "Lives of the Artists". The works of art and architecture described therein emanate different impressions when the sun sets over this truly extraordinary city.

 Upon conclusion of the two hour tour, cross the River Arno and take your place in a traditional and rightly popular restaurant, known for its modest ambience and traditional Florentine flavours.

 Antipasto, two courses with wine, and a dessert then limoncello is served. Classic "bistecca alla fiorentina" (secondo piatto) may be an obvious choice, but ready yourself to be sidetracked by a menu that will likely sabotage all your expectations in the best possible way. Did we mention the capacious wine list?

 After dinner, cross the river again and walk past all the history one last time, ahead of the bullet train back to Roma Termini near 1030pm.

 Rated 5 / 5 by Lucy M on July 13th, 2023  We stumbled upon this day trip from Rome to Florence by chance having booked the private Caravaggio tour. From the fast and near luxurious train ride from Rome, to the fascination we experienced with our guide, Marianna, wandering around the surreal surroundings of historic Florence, we were thrilled. We had a really nice dinner in the evening and returned to Rome on the last train in the happiest of moods. Grazie mille!
